Heartburn (1986)

Hey Guys,

I am way late to the game here but I just watched the movie Heartburn. I have been a huge Nora Ephron fan since I first saw When Harry Met Sally which I have stated in previous posts is my all time favourite movie. I am a bit ashamed to admit that I had never heard of her novel Heartburn until my sister bought me this.

This book is filled with a collection of Nora Ephron’s work. This book included her novel Heartburn which was released in 1983. The novel was one of the best I’ve ever read. If you find yourself relating to this blog even a little bit you probably have ready Amy Poehler’s book Yes Please. In Amy’s book she mentions keeping Heartburn beside her bed well she wrote her own book to reference what a truly good funny book is.

In our house we take turns picking movies so we all get a chance to watch what we want. Of course after I read the book my next pick was the movie version of the novel. Nora Ephron also wrote the screenplay for the movie. This movie stars Meryl Streep who we all know is incredible and Jack Nicholson who I think must have been a bit out of his comfort zone in this one but equally as amazing.

I’m not going to go in a selling pitch on this book or movie because that is not the point of this post. The point of this post is strictly for me to nerd out over my girl Nora.

P.S – Umm yeah that is totally Stockard Channing aka Rizzo. The cast in this movie is incredible
